Grotta Giusti, A Wonderful Cave. Of Steam
I am a passionate fan of spas. For me, the baths are fantastic places, the realm of the natural elements (water, earth, fire and air) and of true prosperity. When I am at the spa, my body and my mind are in perfect balance, I feel regenerated and in harmony with all of creation. I like to share my passion with as many people as possible. Who already knows, will agree with me, who still do not know, I hope taking curiosity and may decide to go to the spa at least once. It's important to know that there can be the contraindications, and that the first of each spa treatment, and even more so in the case of a series of treatments, you need to undergo a medical examination to assess the physical condition and whether or not making treatments.
For example, a sauna is contraindicated if astenie, hypotension, cardiac, acute inflammatory venous forms, varices, fever, bearers of infection.
Each structure has its spa health director, who is a doctor specializing in thermal medicine. Having said that, I want to talk about Grotta Giusti Terme Hotel, near the mountains of Monsummano Terme (PT), a short drive from Florence, Pisa, Siena and Lucca.
Whenever I can, I go to Grotta Giusti to attend an afternoon of pampering Wellness. The restored nineteenth-century villa is oriented around a natural cave with an underground lake that is renowned for its restorative healing powers. Discovered over 150 years ago, the cave, with three distinct zones of heat, is at the heart of the Grotta Giusti experience.
Starting from the entrance through to the deepest part of the Grotta, three different zones are crossed. The zones named Paradise, Purgatory and Hell. Limbo has an impressive lake, the waters of which maintain a constant temperature, both in winter and summer, of 36°C. Even the temperature of the air undergoes very little change over the seasons, ranging from 31°C. in the first cavity to a maximum 34°C. in Hell, with an approximate 100% humidity.
The steam of the rich thermal waters generates a natural "bath of health" which detoxifies the organism for an overall sense of well-being. A wonderful feeling.
